Counselling Sessions
Choosing a counsellor can be daunting and to help you decide whether my service would be a good fit, I offer a free 30 minute introductory phone call. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and I would be happy to answer any questions that you have. There is no obligation for you to commit to making a booking at this point.
Counselling Sessions in Broadstone
If you decide you would like to go ahead, I offer counselling sessions in a variety of ways, depending on what suits you best.
Face to face sessions are held in a quiet and comfortable counselling room in Broadstone, which is in easy reach of Poole, Ferndown, West Moors, Verwood, Wimborne, Corfe Mullen, Lytchett Minster and Upton and has a thriving mixture of shops and cafes along its high street. See map below for the location.
Free parking (up to 2 hours) is available in adjacent residential roads or you could use a car park located outside the leisure centre, which is a short walk away. Broadstone also has a number of bus stops along its main high street, which would be approx 5 – 10 minute walk.
Online Sessions
However, counselling doesn’t have to be in person to be effective and if you are not able to travel – or prefer not to – I also offer telephone and online sessions and would be happy to discuss how this might work for you.
Counselling sessions are available between 9am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.
What To Expect from Counselling
During the first session, I will give you some more information about me and my service as well as taking some details from you. We will also have the chance to talk about your aims alongside any areas you would like us to focus on in future sessions. As we progress, there may be “tools” or “coping techniques” that I can introduce for you to consider, but an important part of this process is learning about what works for you.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes and whilst many people find it helpful to begin with weekly sessions, I also offer the flexibility of fortnightly or monthly sessions and this is something we would talk about in the first session.
The number of sessions will depend on your needs and what you are hoping to achieve.
You won’t have to commit to a particular amount and we would regularly review our work to check that the counselling was on track and continuing to meet your needs.
The sessions are confidential, although there are specific instances which would require me to break confidentiality and I would explain these to you in our first session.
The cost of a session is £50 and I ask for payments to be made via BACS, 24 hours ahead of each session date.
