About Me
Before training to become a counsellor, I worked for 20+ years for a local charity and supported people from many walks of life. This has given me a deep understanding of the diverse challenges people face.
My approach is anchored in the belief that each person is unique and I draw on a range of therapeutic models, such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis so that we can tailor our work to your needs and lived experience.
I work in a calm, respectful, and non-judgmental way, keeping your wellbeing at the centre of each session, so that you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings. People often come to counselling unsure of what to expect – and that’s okay!
Whether you’re navigating a period of change, looking to understand yourself better, or dealing with emotional distress, my role is to walk alongside you, offering space, curiosity and care as we work towards finding clarity, resilience, and empowerment.
These are the ways I ensure high standards for the support I offer:
- I am a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and am guided by their ethical framework in order to work safely and transparently.
- I have professional and public liability insurance.
- I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) which means that I process client information in strict accordance with data protection regulations in the UK.
- I undertake regular training/CPD to ensure that I am working with latest good practice recommendations.
- I have regular supervision with a senior counsellor, which helps me to reflect on my practice and maintain high standards.
- I have an enhanced DBS certificate (Disclosure & Barring Service).
