Are you thinking about Counselling?

At different points in life, we all face challenges that can feel confusing or overwhelming . You might have experienced anxiety, low mood, changes in your health or noticed an imbalance in your personal or work-based relationships.  Sometimes there can be a more general sense of being “off-kilter” which is hard to put into words.  Counselling offers you the opportunity to talk these things through, gain insight, make sense of your experience and connect more deeply with your own values and direction.

There can be many reasons that lead you to consider counselling.

There may be a particular concern such as anxiety, low self-confidence, depression or loneliness.

A change in health – either for yourself or a loved one, or maybe you are looking for a better balance in relationships at home or work.

You may have become aware of how stress is affecting you and want to learn how to manage it in a different way or it could be something that is harder to put your finger on, perhaps a feeling of being “stuck” or uncertainty about how to get onto the right track.

Every person is unique, each with their own hopes, fears and experiences which influence their reasons for counselling and who they choose to accompany them, as they work through their issues.

I feel it is important to take the time to listen to my clients in order to understand what is important to them, and work in a way that complements their needs.

My commitment is to treat each client with respect, fairness and compassion.

How I can help

The type of counselling I offer is Humanistic Integrative Counselling. At the centre of this approach is the belief that we all have a capability for growth, given the right environment. My training enables me to draw upon a range of different therapeutic approaches, so I can work flexibly and adjust the sessions to suit your needs.

I believe in the value of being truly heard, and offer a calm and compassionate presence to help you unpack your thoughts and feelings freely.  There may be practical tools or insights I can offer but ultimately my role is to support you in finding your own clarity and direction.

How I can help

The type of counselling I have trained in is Humanistic Integrative Counselling, which allows me to be adaptable and draw upon aspects of different counselling models as needed.

Underpinning my work is the belief that each person has the power and potential within them and the way I work helps to recognise strengths, as well as exploring ways to address their barriers.

Issues that I have supported clients with include: managing emotional and physical health, adjusting to loss and bereavement, Carer and parent Carer issues and managing long-term or terminal health conditions.
